Welcome to Simple Family Kitchen!
I believe family life has become increasingly complicated and no longer feels approachable. This blog explores thriving within a budget without feeling like you’re living on the cheap and understanding that simplicity isn’t just about cutting back—it’s about focusing on what truly enriches our lives.
I’ve found that one of the best ways to simplify family life is in the kitchen. I’ve always loved baking ever since I was 10 or 11 years old, but it wasn’t until I got married that I took up cooking. This is when I realized that cooking is more than just producing a meal—it was actually the most substantial part of our budget (besides rent) and one that could so easily get out of control.
I must admit, when I was pregnant and battling some pretty intense nausea, my solution consisted of 99¢ boxes of spaghetti and quick freezer meals. The kitchen felt overwhelming and out of control. The last thing I wanted to do when I got home from work was think about food. This resulted in an incredibly unhealthy diet and excessive spending. It took months to figure out that our grocery shopping and kitchen habits could be simplified.
I’m eager to share my enthusiasm for restoring simplicity to the home, from simple recipes to practical tips for saving at the grocery store, my favorite home and baby products, and my personal insights into home and family life. Join me as I offer my two-cents on how I keep life simple with my little family 🙂
